Hi! I’m Madhura! I’m a food systems scholar and a postdoctoral fellow at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam.

Through my research, I explore how the transition to a sustainable food system can be achieved while empowering citizens and ensuring the inclusion of marginalised stakeholders. I also teach food and sustainability related social science courses and qualitative research methods at graduate and undergraduate levels.

Alongside my academic career, I freelance as a science communicator and enjoy being part of outreach activities that allow me to talk about how our food is produced, its social and environmental impact, and what food systems of the future might look like.
