Food Valley, a prominent agri-food accelerator in Netherlands, started an Upcycling Community in 2022 with the aim of bringing together international food industry leaders interested in valorsing food processing by-products. Through this community, they seek to create a safe environment where organisations can develop their ideas together and gain inspiration from each other. For their meeting in September 2022, Food Valley invited me to share results from my research with their community members.
Organised in an interactive, workshop-like format, I engaged with members of the community by sharing the barriers and enablers of food waste valorisation as highlighted in my research. The audience, in turn, shared their experience of the same. Overall, the event was an enriching experience and helped disseminate results from my research on food waste valorisation.
