On May 26 2023, I joined the ‘Future of Food Law’ conference organised by the Law Group of Wageningen University. At the conference, I had the opportunity to present my work entitled ‘Moving towards circularity or running around in circles? A critical evaluation of the regulatory framework for food waste valorisation in the European Union’. In this presentation, I explored the legal and policy responses to the multifaceted issue of food waste reduction in the European Union as well as the ways in which food waste reduction as a policy area is deeply intertwined with an array of adjacent topics such as business ethics, biowaste management, food safety, and consumer protection and health.
