In December 2021, I was invited to present my work on food waste valorisation at the Asia-Europe Environment Forum’s annual conference “Circular Food Systems – Solutions to Reverse Climate Change”. The conference was designed to promote exchanges on regional and international levels and to highlight the range of multi-stakeholder initiatives or partnerships promoting the adoption of sustainable consumption and production practices in food systems. It brought together representatives of governments, civil society and the private sector from Asia and Europe to exchange experiences, and also benefit from contributions from experts in the field of private-sector engagement. I presented my work in the session focussed on small and medium enterprises and discussed the challenges faced by these organisations in valorsing food waste.
